Extend Play and Learning

There are so many different ways to use these toy wooden blocks to increase their educational value:

Talking to your child about each letter and making the letter sound will help them to learn to identify each letter and help them to learn about letter phonics
When your child starts making the connection between letters and letter sounds take a block and ask them to place it next to something around your house which starts with the same letter sound
Spell their name out with the blocks and if they are ready ask them to copy it onto a piece of paper. If this is too easy, spell another word and ask them to copy it
Use the numbers and arithmetic wooden blocks to do sums
Group all of the blocks together by colour. Colour matching and grouping is a great pre math skilll
