Our Five Frogs Finger Puppets are a set of fair trade, hand knitted finger puppets from Peru. This amazingly detailed set consists of 5 adorable frog puppets, all the perfect size for your child’s little fingers. Kids just love finger puppets and they are the perfect toy to inspire imagination, story telling, language and social skills! This set can be used to sing the all time favourite children’s song, “Five Little Speckled Frogs”.

Place the 5 frogs on each finger of a hand and sing:

Five Little Speckled Frogs

“Five little speckled frogs
Sat on a speckled log
Eating some most delicious grubs,
Yum, yum!
One jumped into the pool
Where it was nice and cool
Then there were four green speckled frogs
Croak, croak.”

The verse is then repeated, but with one less frog each time.

The Frog Prince, ‘Mr. Frog’ nursery rhyme and the ‘Der Glumph’ frog song can all feature these gorgeous frog puppets as well.

Our Frog Puppets are very easy to care for. Just wash them with mild detergent, squeeze and dry flat. They have been already been washed. As these puppets are all hand knitted no two puppets will be identical. Occasionally there are slight differences in the detailing of the puppets, for example the shape of the mouth or the colour of a puppets shirt or detailing on fur. This occurs as the knitters use the coloured wool available to them at the time of knitting.

About the Fair Trade Knitters of Peru:

These cute and colourful finger puppets are hand knitted by communities of Quechua women in Puno, Peru. These women are very skillfull knitters and each one is specialised in several hand knitted puppets. Together they produce a vast array of animals and other characters that have surpassed the frontiers of Peru to reach children all over the world. When you purchase these fair trade puppets you are assisting these women who live in extreme poverty to support their own families and in turn their community.
