Setting up an engaging space for imaginative play can enrich the quality of your child’s play. It also promotes play longevity, which will provide you with time to catch up on things you never seem to have the time to do. Here are some ideas for setting up a play space…

For a dinosaurs cave, use a small coffee table and cover it with a blanket or sheet so that it’s completely covered and dark underneath. Your child can set up the inside of the cave with some polished rocks, a nest (maybe a curled up scarf), bark, sticks and other natural materials. Outside the cave, you may want to place a few pot plants around. To create a river or lake drape something blue (a silk scarf, off-cut of fabric, sarong, tablecloth) on the floor. This will make a fantastic play scene for your child and setting it up is all part of the fun.
